Summer break is just around the corner and the kids will be home with you…all day. What will you do when faced with all of that energy? How do you respond to your child when they say, “I’m bored?” Just smile and take them to the library! We have lots of fun and free programs lined up this summer that are geared to get your kids moving as well as reading.
Our Children’s Summer Reading theme this year is On Your Mark, Get Set…Read! There will be martial artists, magicians, animals, and a famous clown. Anyone heard of Ronald McDonald? We’ll also have art lessons, cooking programs, puppet performances, and sports challenges. Join us for stories and ice skating at the NTPRD Chiller or take in a baseball game at the Champion City Kings Stadium. Your kids will have a blast and so will you!
Once your children have burned up all of that energy, they can curl up with a good book and start earning points for prizes.
We also have some great programs for teens. The theme for their Summer Reading Program is Get in the Game, Read! They will have a good time participating in Team Chess and Battleship, challenging themselves to our version of Minute-to-Win-It, and more. They will also have the chance to earn prizes and enter to win tickets to Kings Island.
Program schedules and details on how to participate are available online at www.ccpl.lib.oh.us/youth and at any Clark County Public Library service desk. We hope to see you this summer!!
